In the winter of 2021, a courageous act of intervention tragically cut short the life of 34-year-old Gustavo Mayo Garcia in Goose Creek, South Carolina. On the evening of December 20th, Garcia was fatally shot while attempting to prevent an armed robbery from taking place. His heroic efforts ultimately cost him his life, leaving a community to mourn a man who stood up in the face of violence.
