In the quiet, unincorporated area of Red Bluff Crossroads in Horry County, South Carolina, a tragic event unfolded that cut short the life of 19-year-old Kalik Conn. On or around the first of June, 2022, Conn and another young man, Jeremiah Zachariah Dicker, who was 20, were fatally shot. The incident, which transpired on Highway 554, was not a random act of violence but rather the grim outcome of a planned armed robbery.
The investigation into the double homicide led Horry County police
to three suspects. Within days of the shooting, authorities arrested 18-year-old Dajon Malik Lavern Grate of Conway and 19-year-old Nasirea Brewnoplis Jerome Grate of Longs. Both were charged with two counts of murder. A third individual, 17-year-old Todd Allen Fry Jr. of Conway, was also taken into custody, facing a charge of murder and accessory before the fact of a felony.
