Evans V. Wood, aged 54, passed away on June 26, 2022, in Columbia, South Carolina. According to his obituary, Evans was born on April 1, 1968, and was a resident of Ridgeway, South Carolina. He was known affectionately as 'Dell' and was a graduate of Richland Northeast High School, where he played varsity football. His funeral services were held on July 6, 2022, at Zion Canaan Baptist Church in Columbia, followed by interment at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
