On a Sunday evening in Columbia, South Carolina, a sequence of events tragically cut short the life of 22-year-old Laquan Boatwright. On January 11, 2021, deputies from the Richland County Sheriff's Department were dispatched to the 700 block of Zimalcrest Drive following reports of gunfire. Arriving at the scene, they discovered a grim tableau: two men were already deceased, and a third, Boatwright, was gravely wounded with gunshot wounds.
