In the summer of 2022, a birthday celebration in Greenville, South Carolina, turned into a scene of tragedy, claiming the life of 26-year-old Daveion L. Jackson. On the early morning of Saturday, July 30th, what began as a joyous occasion at the Good Times event venue on Liberty Lane took a dark and violent turn.
A dispute erupted inside the venue during the party, and the conflict soon spilled out into the parking lot.
In the ensuing chaos, gunfire shattered the night, and Daveion Jackson was struck. He was rushed to a local hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal. Another individual was also injured in the shooting.
In the days that followed, the Greenville Police Department identified a suspect, Jacquez Jenkins. Investigators determined that Jenkins was the second person who had been shot during the altercation. Upon his release from the hospital, Jenkins was taken into custody and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was subsequently booked into the Greenville County Jail, where he was held without bond. The investigation suggested the shooting was a direct result of the physical altercation that began inside the party.
