On November 26, 2023, law enforcement officials in Greenville, South Carolina, launched a homicide investigation following a distressing discovery at a local residence. Deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call reporting that a man was breaking into a home in the Upstate area. Upon their arrival at the scene, investigators found the body of 57-year-old Erin Mitchell Hitt, who had suffered fatal injuries.
