On August 23rd, 3-year-old Damiah White, a young female, was found shot to death alongside her 28-year-old mother, Myeisha J. Turner. The two had been the victims of a brutal double homicide inside their own home.
A relative made the grim discovery, finding not only the tragic scene but also an 11-month-old boy, Damiah's younger brother, who was physically unharmed but had been left alone in the house with the bodies of his mother and sister.
The senseless murder of a young mother and her child sent shockwaves through the city. At the time of his sentencing, it was revealed that while he was a strong suspect in the double homicide, formal murder charges had not yet been filed against him in connection with their deaths. Despite this public identification, the case of Damiah White and Myeisha J. Turner has seen no further public developments regarding charges, a trial, or a conviction for their murders. The community continues to await full justice for the young girl and her mother whose lives were tragically cut short.
