Tyrone Gardner, a 35-year-old resident of Springfield, Missouri, was found dead on October 26, 2015, in his north Springfield home. Gardner, a former standout basketball player at Kickapoo High School, was discovered with a gunshot wound after a neighbor called 911 just before 9:30 p.m. to report that he was not breathing. The police initially labeled the incident as a "suspicious death" but later confirmed it as a homicide.
