On a September evening in 2016, the life of 18-year-old Dylan T. Monroe was tragically cut short in a burst of gunfire in Kansas City, Missouri. The young man was the victim of a double shooting that unfolded on September 20th in the 2500 block of East 42nd Street. When police, who were on patrol nearby and heard the gunshots, arrived at the scene around 9:30 p.m., they discovered Monroe and another man in front of a residence, both suffering from gunshot wounds.
