On July 19, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., Kansas City, Missouri, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 5400 block of Prospect Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Ernest J. Scott suffering from gunshot wounds in a grassy area. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Scott was pronounced dead at the scene.
