On September 26, 2016, police in Kansas City, Missouri, launched a homicide investigation following the discovery of a young man who had been fatally wounded. The victim was identified as Hubert A. Holmes, a 21-year-old Black male. Officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of Harrison Boulevard in the early morning hours, around 2:30 a.m., after receiving reports of a shooting in the area.
