In the winter of 2017, a tragedy unfolded in Kansas City, Missouri, claiming the life of 24-year-old Brenda Vera. On the evening of January 17th, police responded to a call about a shooting and discovered Vera fatally shot inside a truck parked in a driveway on the 2500 block of Lister Avenue. The initial investigation pointed to a grim sequence of events that began with a road-rage incident.
