In the early hours of a Monday morning in Kansas City, Missouri, a violent encounter cut short the life of 56-year-old Ruth A. Bowman. On February 12, 2024, just after 12:30 a.m., police were called to the area of 50th and Bellefontaine Avenue where they discovered Bowman unresponsive on the sidewalk, having sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
