Demetrius Cook, a 33-year-old resident of Saint Louis, Missouri, was found dead on January 19, 2017, in his University City home. According to reports, University City Police responded to a welfare check at a residence on the 1300 block of Sheridan Drive. Upon entering the unlocked home, officers discovered Cook suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding his death prompted an immediate investigation by local authorities.
