In the evening hours of October 10, 2023, the life of 19-year-old Latrell Prentice, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in the Dutchtown neighborhood of St. Louis. Responding to the sound of gunfire just before 7 p.m., police officers made a grim discovery in an alley in the 3400 block of Osage Street. There, they found Prentice unresponsive, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Prentice, who resided on Miami Street, was found about a mile from his home. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department's Homicide Division is leading the investigation into his death. Despite their efforts, authorities have not yet identified any suspects, and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. The case remains an open and active investigation.
