On May 22, 2019, 23-year-old Omar Martin was fatally shot during a dispute while traveling on a MetroLink train in St. Louis County, Missouri. The incident began around 11:50 a.m. as the eastbound red line train approached the St. Charles Rock Road station near Pagedale. According to investigators, Martin became involved in an altercation with another male passenger.
