On May 21, 2018, the life of a 22-year-old Black male named Donnell Louis was cut short in a violent incident in Kansas City, Missouri. The events unfolded during the late afternoon hours in the residential area near East 44th Terrace and Lawn Avenue. Residents in the neighborhood were startled by the sudden eruption of gunfire, with one witness reporting the sound of more than 20 shots fired in rapid succession, disrupting the quiet of the community.
