Ramirez L. Smith Jr., a 15-year-old resident of Indianapolis, was shot and killed on September 11, 2007, following a confrontation that escalated into violence. The incident took place on Wixson Court on the city's Northwestside. Ramirez had been involved in a fight earlier in the day, and that altercation extended into a larger dispute at Gateway West Park later in the evening.
