On a summer night in Kansas City, Missouri, a life was cut tragically short. Dajuan J. Alvarez, a 29-year-old man, was fatally wounded by gunfire on Saturday, August 11, 2018. The incident that led to his death unfolded in the 6100 block of Tracy Avenue, a detail that would only become clear to investigators after the fact.
