Gary Starr, a 23-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, was tragically shot and killed on September 8, 2018. The incident occurred near the 18th and Vine district, a historic area known for its jazz heritage. On the night of the shooting, police were called to the Juke House, a local club, where they found Starr suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by off-duty officers to perform CPR, Starr was pronounced dead at the scene.
