In the Penrose neighborhood of north St. Louis, a 34-year-old Black man named Lamont Romell Rhone was found shot to death on the evening of September 27, 2019. Police were called to the 4400 block of Farlin Avenue just before 7 p.m., where they discovered Rhone in a vacant lot, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
