In the early morning hours of August 27, 2022, the life of 23-year-old Dwight Ronald Lee Bartee was tragically cut short. The male victim was in the 1400 block of North 13th Street, an area bordering the Carr Square and Columbus Square neighborhoods of Saint-Louis, Missouri, when violence erupted. Just before 1:15 a.m., while patrolling near Cass Avenue, police officers were drawn to a large crowd gathered in the street. Their attention was quickly diverted by the sound of gunshots.
