On November 4, 2018, law enforcement officials in St. Louis County, Missouri, began investigating the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Jaquise Hopson. The incident occurred in the municipality of Pine Lawn, a suburb within the Greater St. Louis area. Police were called to the scene in the 3700 block of Jennings Station Road, where they discovered Hopson inside a vehicle.
