Davis Jr. Known to his loved ones as a dedicated family man, Davis had established a weekly tradition he called 'Family Fridays,' where he would grill and gather relatives at his home in the historic Oak Park neighborhood.
On this particular Sunday, however, police were dispatched to the residence around 7:30 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Inside the home, officers discovered the African American male suffering from fatal gunshot wounds.
The timing of the death was particularly heart-wrenching for the family, as Davis was an expectant father whose daughter was born just hours after his passing.
