African American Paul Long, a 33-year-old resident of Kansas City, Missouri, was fatally shot on the night of November 26, 2020, which fell on the Thanksgiving holiday. The incident occurred in the southern part of the city near the intersection of 79th Street and Troost Avenue. Just before 11:00 p.m., the Kansas City Police Department received calls reporting the sound of gunfire in the area.
