On May 23, 2023, 16-year-old Zechariah Washington was fatally shot in Kansas City, Missouri. The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 8200 block of Forest Avenue. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found Washington receiving medical attention for a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
