On February 4, 2021, police officers in Kansas City, Missouri, were dispatched to a residence on the 8100 block of Lydia Avenue following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement discovered a chaotic environment with two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. In the basement of the home, they located the body of a 39-year-old Black male named Dionte Harris, who had been fatally shot.
