In St. Louis, Missouri, a domestic dispute tragically escalated, leading to the death of 33-year-old Christian Stewart on March 30, 2021. The events of that Tuesday afternoon began in a vehicle, where Stewart was a passenger while his girlfriend, 29-year-old Shaquavia Willis, was driving him home. The situation soured when Stewart initiated a video call with his ex-girlfriend and her child.
An argument ensued, and Willis reportedly ended their relationship.
Despite the breakup, Stewart decided to follow Willis to her home. Both individuals parked their cars at an apartment complex on Iguana Terrace. It was there that witnesses reported hearing the sound of gunshots. Stewart was seen running from his vehicle as Willis allegedly exited her own car and pursued him, firing a gun.
Christian Stewart was pronounced dead at the scene. In a subsequent turn of events, Shaquavia Willis surrendered to the police. She reportedly admitted to investigators that she had acquired the gun two weeks prior to the incident and that she only ceased shooting because the weapon was out of ammunition.
Following her confession, Willis was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the fatal shooting of Christian Stewart.
