On the evening of September 18, 2021, Shaun Leachman, a 40-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in St. Louis, Missouri. The shooting occurred around 6:45 p.m. in the 5800 block of Delmar Boulevard. Leachman was shot multiple times and was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Another man, who was 31 years old, was also a victim in the same incident. He suffered a gunshot wound to the head but ultimately survived the attack.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting have not been made public.
In the course of their investigation, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department identified a vehicle of interest. They released surveillance photos of a black SUV, believed to be a Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, that they were seeking in connection with the homicide. The vehicle was notable for having a missing wheel cover on the front passenger side tire and tinted windows all around. Authorities asked for the public's help in locating the SUV and identifying its driver and any passengers.
There have been no subsequent announcements regarding any arrests or charges filed in the death of Shaun Leachman. The case remains under investigation, and police have encouraged anyone with information to come forward by contacting the homicide division or making an anonymous tip to CrimeStoppers.
