In the early morning hours of April 10, 2022, a violent incident unfolded in the Walnut Park West neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, claiming the life of Henry Allen Floyd, a 60-year-old Black male. Residents in the area were disturbed around 2:00 a.m. by the sound of gunfire, prompting calls to emergency services. St. Louis Metropolitan Police officers responded to the 5900 block of West Florissant Avenue, where they discovered the victim lying in the street, suffering from a severe gunshot
wound to the stomach.
First responders immediately attended to Floyd, transporting him from the scene to a nearby hospital for urgent medical intervention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Following the incident, homicide detectives arrived to canvas the area, searching for witnesses and physical evidence that might shed light on the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
As the investigation progressed, authorities classified the case as a homicide.
