In the early evening hours of March 8, 2020, as the sun was setting over Saint-Louis, Missouri, 27-year-old Christopher Earl Alexander was fatally shot. His life came to a tragic end in the Walnut Park East neighborhood. In the moments leading up to the shooting, Alexander had reportedly ingested drugs and was exhibiting aggressive and erratic behavior, a situation witnessed by his own sister, Sierra Alexander.
The man identified as responsible for the shooting was Jamal Johnson.
Following an investigation into the incident, the Saint-Louis Police Department determined that Johnson had acted in self-defense. Consequently, the shooting was classified as a justifiable homicide.
Due to this classification, no criminal charges were filed against Jamal Johnson, and no arrests were made in connection with Christopher Alexander's death. The case was considered closed from a legal standpoint, with the authorities concluding that the use of force was warranted under the circumstances. This left his family and friends to mourn his passing.
