On April 16, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., 26-year-old Detarius LaTrave're Haynes was fatally shot at a QuikTrip gas station in the 10700 block of West Florissant Avenue in Ferguson, Missouri. Haynes and 18-year-old Joshua Campbell arrived together in the same vehicle. As they exited the car, Campbell shot Haynes near the gas pumps, causing him to collapse and die at the scene.
