On the morning of April 21, 2020, tragedy struck in the city of Berkeley within St. Louis County, Missouri, involving Montrell Jeffrey, a 21-year-old Black male. Just before noon, local law enforcement received calls regarding a shooting incident near the intersection of Patterson Avenue and Witsell Avenue. When officers from the Berkeley Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered Jeffrey suffering from a gunshot wound.
