On May 19, 2018, police officers in St. Louis, Missouri, were summoned to the Tower Grove South neighborhood following reports of gunfire. The incident occurred in the 3400 block of Grace Avenue, a residential area in the South City district. Upon arrival at the scene, first responders discovered two victims who had sustained gunshot wounds.
One of the victims was identified as Arthur Evans, a 51-year-old male resident of Florissant, Missouri.
Evans had suffered fatal injuries during the shooting and was pronounced dead. The second victim, a 28-year-old man whose identity was not immediately released to the public, was also struck by gunfire but survived the attack. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Homicide detectives from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Despite the collection of evidence at the scene and the presence of a surviving witness, public records and media reports from the years following the incident do not indicate that any suspects have been named or that any arrests have been made in connection with the death of Arthur Evans.
