On May 29, 2023, 19-year-old Derrick Johnson of University City, Missouri, was fatally shot while playing video games inside a residence on the 4900 block of Leahy Avenue in St. Louis's Mark Twain neighborhood. According to police reports, an unknown individual entered the home and shot Johnson, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
