In the late hours of a Monday night in St. Louis, tragedy struck a neighborhood as 19-year-old Jerrell Berry was found dead. On October 25, 2021, at approximately 11:15 PM, the sound of gunshots pierced the night in the 2700 block of Wyoming Street, prompting concerned residents to alert the authorities. When police officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a grim reality in a nearby alley.
There, they found Jerrell Berry, a young male from the 4400 block of Itaska, unconscious and
not breathing. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound, and despite any efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The St. Louis Medical Examiner's office would later confirm that the cause of his death was a homicide.
The investigation into the shooting of Jerrell Berry was launched immediately, with homicide detectives canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses. The case was also listed by the St. Louis Regional Crime Stoppers as an open homicide, with a plea to the public for any information that could lead to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for his death.
As of now, the investigation into the death of Jerrell Berry remains ongoing. No arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with the shooting.
