On January 28, 2024, 25-year-old Tawan Ward was fatally shot in St. Louis' Downtown West neighborhood. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. near the intersection of 16th and Pine Streets, where police found Ward in the street with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and back.
