Xavier Usanga, a 7-year-old boy from Saint Louis, Missouri, tragically lost his life on August 12, 2019. Xavier was shot and killed in front of his two young sisters while playing outside their home in the 3500 block of North 14th Street. The incident deeply affected the community, bringing St. Louis Metropolitan Police Chief John Hayden to tears during a news conference held shortly after the shooting. Xavier was remembered as a bright and inquisitive child who loved to read and ask questions.
