Marquise Aldridge, a 23-year-old Black man, was shot and killed on December 11, 2020, in Riverview, Missouri, after police were called to an apartment in the 9800 block of Lilac Drive as evening settled in. Officers arrived around 5:29 p.m. and found two people suffering from gunshot wounds, the scene already shifting from frantic to hushed as first responders tried to make sense of what had happened inside the apartment. Aldridge was pronounced dead at the location.
