On the afternoon of January 29, 2022, a violent quadruple shooting unfolded in the Kingsway East neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri, claiming multiple lives. Police were called to the 4900 block of Cote Brilliante Avenue around 3:35 p.m., where they discovered a chaotic crime scene. Among the victims was Jeremiah Curry, a 22-year-old Black male, who was found lifeless at the scene.
Investigators determined that the gunfire had struck four individuals in total.
Curry and an 18-year-old named Armaud Green were discovered dead either inside or near a parked vehicle at the location. A third victim, 21-year-old Davion Rayford, had also sustained critical gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. A fourth man, 20 years old, managed to flee the immediate scene despite his injuries, running to a nearby convenience store to seek help; he survived the attack but was listed in critical condition.
Following the incident, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department launched a homicide investigation, noting that this event marked a significant spike in violence for the area, being the first triple homicide recorded in the city in six months. Detectives recovered two firearms and suspected narcotics at the scene. Despite the recovery of evidence, reports indicated that authorities struggled to identify immediate leads. At the time of the initial investigation and subsequent coverage, law enforcement had not named any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the deaths of Curry, Green, and Rayford.
