On a day with a high-surf warning and waves reaching heights of 25 to 35 feet, experienced big-wave surfer Kirk Passmore disappeared into the powerful waters off Oahu's North Shore. The 32-year-old was surfing at a spot known as Alligator Rock, where he took off on a massive wave estimated to be around 20 feet.
