Robert Rumburg, a 50-year-old man from Colorado, went missing on November 16, 2011, while surfing near Sunset Beach on Oahu's North Shore. Rumburg, who was visiting Hawaii at the time, was an experienced surfer, and on that day, he borrowed a surfboard to head out to the ocean. Later that evening, a local resident reported him missing when he failed to return, and his surfboard was found abandoned in the ocean near Rocky Point, not far from where he had entered the water.
