Clark Matthew Halverson Jr., a 43-year-old man from Nampa, Idaho, has been missing since July 31, 2022. He was last seen at approximately 12:00 p.m. swimming in the Payette River in Valley County, Idaho, near mile marker 89 on Highway 85. Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a man in the water who appeared to be in distress and promptly called 911 for help.
Emergency services, including the Valley County Sheriff's Office, Cascade Fire and EMS, and Valley County Search and Rescue, responded to the call. An extensive search of the river and surrounding area was conducted on Sunday and Monday, involving land and air efforts with the use of a drone. The Boise County Sheriff's Office, Garden Valley Fire Protection District, and the Cascade Rafting Company also assisted in the search efforts. Despite the thorough search, authorities were unable to locate Halverson.
The active search for Halverson was called off on Monday afternoon, pending any new information or sightings that might provide a possible location. Authorities believe that Halverson may have drowned in the Payette River, but his body has not been recovered.
At the time of his disappearance, Clark Matthew Halverson Jr. was described as a white male, 5'11" tall, and weighing 240 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has a scar on his right ankle and was last seen wearing a gray cutoff shirt and tan shorts.
