James Francis Schroeder, 22, disappeared on September 25, 1982, during a hunting trip in Idaho County, Idaho. Schroeder and two friends had traveled from Wisconsin to the Lake Louise area near Three Rivers for the hunting expedition. On the day he vanished, Schroeder left the campsite alone to hunt, leaving behind essential gear like his hat, coat, map, and compass.
