Raymond Paul Ferrieri III, aged 24, went missing on May 21, 2018, during a hunting trip near the Idaho/Montana border. Raymond, along with his brother Jesse Ferrieri and four other men, was staying at Paradise Campground in the Bitterroot National Forest. In the middle of the night, the group left the camp in their Chevrolet Suburban after hearing wolves. Tragically, the vehicle rolled into the Selway River. While two passengers, Jesse Gunin and Jason Lewis, managed to escape, Raymond and three others did not.
The Suburban was recovered from the river on May 23, but no one was inside. Over the following weeks, the bodies of two other passengers, Koby Clark and Reece Rollins, were found, but Raymond and his brother Jesse remain missing and are presumed deceased. Despite extensive search efforts in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness Area, neither brother has been located.
Raymond’s family continues to seek closure, and authorities encourage anyone with information to come forward as the case remains unresolved. The Ferrieri brothers are remembered as passionate outdoorsmen, and their disappearance left a lasting impact on their family and community.
