Douglas Halliwell Brick, a 23-year-old physics student at the University of Utah, disappeared on October 12, 1973, after leaving his dormitory, Austin Hall. His car was later found abandoned in the foothills near the university, but despite extensive searches by university police and Salt Lake County Search and Rescue, no trace of him was found. The case went cold, hampered by lost police records and conflicting reports about his last known whereabouts.
