On 09/13/17 at about 1329 hours, Hana Patrol Officers were called to respond to the area of Kipahulu in the Haleakala National Park as a decomposing body was found partially submerged in a large pool of water. It appeared that the victim later only identified as John Doe had been expired for several days and no identification was discovered on or near the body. No signs of obvious foul play was observed and the body was later air lifted out of the scene and taken to the Hana Health Clinic.
