In the early morning hours of July 4, 2014, John Joseph Flavin, a 44-year-old man, vanished from a camping trip in a remote part of Hana, Hawaii. He was with friends at a location known as 'Plenty Kiawe,' situated at Mile Marker 30 along Highway 31, where he was camping in his vehicle.
