In the early morning hours in Kihei, Hawaii, Torry Jim Durrell was unable to sleep. At approximately 2:00 a.m., he reached out to a coworker, explaining his restlessness and his plan to go kayaking to soothe his mind. This pre-dawn decision to take to the water was the beginning of a sequence of events that would leave his community and loved ones searching for answers.
