Steven Washington Jr. was an American serial killer who committed a series of brutal crimes in St. Petersburg, Florida, during the latter half of 1963. Born on July 27, 1948, Washington was only 15 years old when he began his violent spree, earning the nickname "Window-Screen Rapist" due to his method of entering victims' homes through open windows. His crimes included rape, assault, and the murder of three elderly women. He was apprehended on January 3, 1964, and later sentenced to life imprisonment. Washington died in prison on March 18, 2004.
Modus Operandi
Washington targeted elderly women living alone, typically entering their homes by climbing through open windows. He would sexually assault, beat, and in some cases, strangle his victims. His attacks were marked by extreme violence and left behind clear forensic evidence, including fingerprints on window screens and other surfaces.
